If you are interested in ceramic art and extending your skills while on holidays, this place might be for you. Fired Art Retreat is a privately owned forested property half way between Sydney and Brisbane in New South Wales, Australia.
Just ten minutes drive from the longest, cleanest beaches you will ever see, this place is a haven for a large variety of native birds and animals and many species of sub tropical trees. It has extensive gardens for flowers and vegetables and a large well equipped workshop for making ceramics with three kilns, slip casting room and small gallery.
This is a home stay environment and as such you would be living with the artist and her partner in their spacious home for a three or five day workshop. Subjects cover drawing, painting, ceramic sculpture, mould design (including slip-casting), throwing techniques and glaze and surface treatments.
If you have an interest in getting away from expensive hotels and lazing idly by the pool, this is an opportunity to try something which will expand your creativity and to have a holiday for personal artistic growth.
