Ceramics Department Northern Beaches Tafe
Northern Beaches Tafe is a state of the art newly refurbished ceramics facility, with separate wheelforming, handforming and mouldmaking studios. It has 5 gas kilns of various sizes, including a large trolley kiln for firing larger sculptural work, 6 electric kilns, 2 raku kilns and 2 bourrey box woodfired kilns.
Our courses range from Certificate 3 beginners to Advanced Diploma, and equip our students with the ability to operate their own independant studio, or gain the qualifications to teach ceramics or work as technical assistant in education or the ceramics industry.
Courses operate full time 3 days/week for 1 year for cert 3, and 2 days /week part time for 2 years for cert 4 ,diploma and advanced diploma, enabling students to work part time.
Our studios are located in a beautiful bushland setting close to Sydney's Manly beaches and have easy bus transport nearby to the city.
As a bonus we are accross the road from a large shopping mall which contains all essential services such as banks and post offices.
