Southern Ceramic Group
The Southern Ceramic Group is an umbrella group for Potters and Ceramicists in Hampshire and the surrounding counties. Its aim is to enable potters and sculptors to meet other like-minded people and share ideas and techniques. It includes professionals and amateurs, teachers and students, collectors and enthusiasts.
The group organises a large and varied programme of events, including demonstrations, workshops, sales and exhibitions. Its magazine details these and also carries reviews, member profiles, interviews, critiques and technical articles. The glaze group meets bi-monthly to create and share glazes across all temperature ranges.
The Southern Ceramic Group was started in 1975 by a small group of enthusiastic potters. Their aim was to enable potters and sculptors normally working alone to meet other like-minded people and share ideas and techniques. Our members are potters, sculptors, professional and amateurs, teachers and students, collectors and enthusiasts. The group acts a contact point between Practitioners, Galleries, Collectors and the general public.
