ADAMIEION Ceramic Art Studio is located in the small village of Marineika, Zakynthos, Greece, just 4 km from Zakynthos town and less than 30 minutes walk from Tsilivi Beach. The studio is built among wine grows, lemon trees and olive trees, on two floors, keeping the architectural tradition of Zakynthos.

My name is Dionysia Avouri and I was born in Zakynthos and studied ceramic art and painting for 5 years in Athens, Greece, while working in pottery studios to acquire experience and learn techniques and trends on ceramic art.

From 1996 I have set my own studio and exhibition in Marineika, where I create functional and decorative ceramics. In my studio you can see the whole process of making ceramics: preparing of clay, pug-mill, hand-kneading, wheel throwing, hand-painting, glazing and firing.

Clay, oxides, glazes and other materials come both from Greece and other countries. Ceramic Art Studio is both for everyday use and for decoration. For dinnerware sets I use only non-toxic materials. The glazes are lead and barium free and safe for use as dinnerware and in dishwashers.

I love my island, so all my creations are inspired from the nature, life, tradition, colour and smell of Zakynthos: ceramic olive branches, dinner sets with olives design, fishes and turtles, ceramic ladies inspired from old Zakynthos, wooden-ceramic syntheseis are only a few of my collections.
