De Kneedbare Steen (The Kneadable Stone)

In 1999 Jorien van Heuvel opened pottery "De Kneedbare Steen" (The kneadable stone). A modern workshop where, using various techniques, ceramics are being made. The handmade products are unique and radiate a characteristic personal feature.

All products are being glazed and can be decorated; a name, a drawing, Celtic or native American patterns and so on. Design and decoration will be made according to your wishes. Various possibilities will be discussed, ideas will be furnished and colours defined.

Jorien van Heuvel has been specialized in designing and manufacturing handmade urns and remembrance ceramics. Her style is being characterized by simplicity and tranquillity, which she tries to express in shapes and fitting decorations. She sees the urn as a tangible memory to the deceased and for that reason she often uses symbols that enhance the connection between life and death.

Beside Urns for Adults there is a collection Urns for Children. There is also a possibility to have Small Urns made, in which small quantities of ash can be held after for example dispersion. As for Remembrance Ceramics, you can think of all sorts of lights, remembrance plates and oil-lamps. All of these products can be made with or without ash-reservoir.
