Kirkland Arts Center
Kirkland Arts Center?s ceramic program offers a wide range of classes and workshops, for both adults and youth, from novice to experienced levels. Faculty is comprised of professional artists and arts educators who are committed to the vision of KAC as a nationally recognized program for teaching and exhibiting ceramic arts.
Class topics range from basic handbuilding and throwing techniques to slip casting, creation of functional ware, fine art sculpture, garden applications, alternative firings and surface decoration. Open Studio time is available to currently enrolled students.
KAC was founded as the Creative Arts League in 1962 by a group of artists and citizens interested in providing local opportunities in the arts and concerned about the preservation of a Kirkland landmark, the Peter Kirk Building. For 39 years, the Kirkland Arts Center has owned and maintained this historic structure and transformed it into an exhibition gallery, community arts studio and education facility serving students of all ages and skill levels.
