Keramik-Museum Berlin (KMB)
The KMB was founded in 1990 but only in 2004 it opened its doors to the public. Situated on the romantic grounds of the oldest building from Charlottenburg (built 1712) in a center part of germanys capital Berlin - not far away from Charlottenburg Palace - it attracts many visitors. The Museum is collecting works primarily of the era under German cultural influence (Central Europe, Germany, Austria and Swizzerland).
Our collection, which focuses on ceramics dating from the 19th and 20th century, includes vessels, sculptures, architectural ceramics and stove tiles. Additionally, a ceramics library, a photographic collection and a document archive are beeing prepared to open to the public. These activities are based on many years of collective and research work on the history of German ceramics by the Berlin gallerist Heinz-J. Theis.
From early April until the end of September there are three different exhibitions shown permanently. From October until March you can allways see two shows. The Association of friends of the Berlin Ceramics Museum (Foerderverein KMB, e.V.) is running this museum until the Government of Berlin takes it over as planned.
The opening hours are from 1 - 5 p.m. only on saturday, sunday and monday. Admission 2 Euro. Please visit our website for more information.
