Gladstone Pottery Museum
Gladstone Pottery Museum is the only complete Victorian pottery factory from the days when coal burning ovens made the world's finest bone china. Traditional skills, original workshops, a cobbled yard and huge bottle kilns create an atmospheric time warp. At Gladstone you can reach out and touch the history of the Potteries and there is the opportunity to have a go at throwing a pot, painting a piece of pottery or make a bone china flower. The 'Flushed with Pride' gallery is dedicated to the toilet and seven very different areas allow you to discover who really invented it and how. The gallery has remarkable displays and fun interactive exhibits.
Gladstone is also home to one of the finest collections of decorative tiles in Britain. They are housed in The Tile Gallery which tells the story of the development of tiles, from Medieval monastries to space shuttles.
Gladstone Pottery Museum is open every day from 10am - 5pm (please enquire about openings times if you are planning to visit between Christmas and New Year). Free car park!
Visit our gift shop to browse our range of exclusive china made and decorated at the Museum, or enjoy traditional food in the Gladstone Tearoom.
