joseph morgan ceramics
I am a maker of wheel throw functional ceramics. My work is fired in a wood kiln up to 1280-1300 c. I add washing soda to the kiln to create the surface textures on my work. This is similar to salt glazing but with a cooler finish.
After training at university I realised that to become a competent thrower more training was defiantly required. I therefore applied to the Thomastown Pottery Skills course (Thomastown, County Kilkenny, Ireland). This is where I really learnt my craft and a great deal of humility.
After Thomastown I returned to the UK where I set up a small one-man studio and began producing a modest range of tableware.
