I have been making handmade studio ceramics for over thirty years. During this time I have exhibited throughout the UK and abroad in Norway, Holland, South Africa and New Zealand.

My recent work is a response to light, form and texture observed in coastal landscapes, harbours and estuaries. The forms of boats are of particular interest with their sea-washed and colourful weather worn surfaces left stranded by the rythmic ebb and flow of the tides. Forms are produced by using a combination of wheel-thrown and hand-forming techniques using red earthenware blended with stoneware crank clay.

Surfaces are developed by applying coloured ongobes over-painted with matt and glost transparent glazes fired to 1120 deg C.
