Pinch
Pinch is an artisan gallery in downtown Northampton, Massachusetts, one of the leading "art towns" in the United States. Pinch is dedicated to carrying handmade work of local and national craftspeople.
Pinch Pottery was established in 1979 in a small space in Thornes Marketplace, a five story revitalized department store, on Main Street in downtown Northampton, MA. Initially the business served as a studio and showroom for the founding partners Leslie Ferrin, Mara Superior and Barbara Walch. Strong demand for their work soon found the partners seeking studio space elsewhere and Pinch Pottery began business as a craft shop and gallery. Western Massachusetts was at the same time becoming home to many clay artists. Soon their work began to appear on the shelves of Pinch Pottery. Word began to spread about the quality of this little shop and work began to arrive from around the country.
