John Murphy studied Fine Arts at the Canterbury University, majoring in sculpture. His interest in ceramics started while at the Auckland Teachers Training College.

Pottery
A wide range of bowls, platters and ceramics are available at the studio. Pit-fired or glazed inside and decorated with exciting outer surfaces. Some have underglaze drawings.

Sculpture
The range of ceramic sculpture is growing, John's interest in ancient art forms is evident in the Medusa and the Greenman, both on sale at the studio. John is available for commissions.
