Turner Pottery
Ken Turner, a Northwest artist working in clay creates decorative vessels, platters and sculpture with beautiful surfaces of 23k gold using a verity of firing and forming techniques. Visit "The Studio" and watch Ken create as he infuses form and spirit into a lump of clay, transforming it into a thing of beauty. Information and inspiration for collectors, artist and students abound.
'Mastery of technique and form are admired by collectors and peers alike. My quest for skill and knowledge has rewarded me with the ability to successfully synthesize glaze to form, evoking a quiet eloquence in each piece. My use of gold, platinum, and other precious metals clearly contrasts the raw with the opulent while maintaining a delicate balance between the two. Soft undulating rims and lips suggest a relaxed human element to my forms. The swirling, glaze-trailed motifs symbolize a complex and elaborate journey representative of man's inquisitive pursuit of the unknown. This human connection, prevalent in many of my pieces, forms the heart and spirit of my work.'
