Birch Mountain Pottery
Birch Mountain Pottery is a combined pottery studio, classroom and gallery in Tolland, Connecticut. Since 1985, potter, Susan Gerr,has offered the community a glimpse into a working pottery studio.
Susan produces a range of functional and decorative work using high fire stoneware and a range of glazes developed by her. In addition, she teaches all levels of pottery classes including handbuilding and wheelwork. Her gallery offers her work for sale, as well as some work by other area craftspeople including basketweavers, woodworkers and jewelers.
Susan graduated from the University of Connecticut with a major in ceramics. She has taught at other area schools, as well as volunteering to teach at the Hole in the Wall Camp, first started by Paul Newman. Her work is also represented by other New England galleries.
